From the very first glance you will notice the square, muscular silhouette of the 2022 Gladiator, which is reminiscent of the Wrangler. And while these two models offer similar 4x4 capabilities, the similarities end there.
While the popular Wrangler comes in 2-door and 4-door versions, the Gladiator only offers a 4-door configuration. You will love its versatility thanks to its pickup truck design and its convenient 5-foot bed, especially when it is time to carry heavy cargo.
Depending on the version, the Gladiator is equipped with 17- to 20-inch wheels and 33-inch off-road tires. It also features black or body-coloured fender flares for a more rugged and imposing look.
When it comes to exterior design, the Gladiator features the iconic round Jeep headlights as well as removable doors and roof. And we can't forget about the removable windshield! These features have been delighting Wrangler drivers for a long time, and they work very well for the Gladiator too. It is also equipped with skid plates along the bottom of the truck, designed to protect the transfer case and fuel tank when driving over rough terrain.
Powerful Engines and Towing Capacity
Under the hood, the new 2022 Jeep Gladiator is powered by a 3.6 L V6 with 285 horsepower. You can also equip it with a 3.0 L EcoDiesel V6 that generates 260 horsepower.
Depending on the model, you can choose between a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic transmission, except for the High Altitude version which does not offer a manual transmission. What's more, every version of the Gladiator offers the legendary Jeep 4x4 drivetrain, which is even more impressive on the Mojave version. In fact, the Mojave makes the Gladiator the first-ever Desert Rated truck.
If properly equipped, the Gladiator offers a towing capacity of up to 7650 pounds. It also boasts the best-in-class payload thanks to its maximum capacity of 1700 pounds.
